This page explains what happens to your information when you visit this site or get in touch with us. It describes what the site actually does, rather than what a template says it might.

Who we are

Sweet Lime Photo is a commercial photography business based in Adelaide, South Australia. If you have a question about anything on this page, our details are at the foot of it.

What we collect when you contact us

Our contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and a message. Nothing else is required, and there is no account to create. What you send arrives in our inbox and stays there, the same way an ordinary email would. We use it to answer you and to do the work you have asked about.

What happens when you just look around

Like any website, ours sits on a web server that keeps a short log of requests - the page asked for, the time, the browser, and the IP address it came from. Our host keeps those logs for security and troubleshooting. We do not read them routinely, and we do not use them to build any profile of you.

We do not track you

There is no Google Analytics on this site. There is no Facebook or Meta pixel, no advertising tag, no heat-mapping and no remarketing. Nothing here follows you to another website.

Cookies

Three small cookies may be set while you are here. One keeps the site working as you move from page to page. The other two belong to our spam filter, and count page views so it can tell a person from a robot. None of them carry your name. Content embedded from other companies, listed below, may set cookies of its own.

Spam filtering

Our contact form is protected by CleanTalk. When you submit the form, its contents along with your IP address and browser details are sent to CleanTalk to be checked against known spam. That is what stops the form filling up with junk. CleanTalk is a separate company with its own privacy policy at cleantalk.org.

Things on our pages that come from elsewhere

Some parts of this site are served by other companies, and when your browser loads them it necessarily tells them your IP address:

  • Google Maps, on our contact page.
  • Vimeo and YouTube, where we show video.
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces the site is set in.
  • Google reviews, which we show with the reviewer name and picture exactly as Google publishes them.
  • Stripe, if you buy something from us. Card details go straight to Stripe and we never see or hold your card number.

Each of these has its own privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect.

Photographs of people

Commercial photography often includes people. Where we photograph identifiable people for a client, the client is responsible for obtaining any consent or release the intended use requires. If you believe you appear in an image on this site and would rather not, email us and we will take it down while we sort it out.

Who we share things with

We do not sell your information and we do not hand it to anyone for marketing. The only places it goes are the ones described above - our email provider and web host, our spam filter, and the companies whose content sits on our pages. We would also disclose something if the law required it of us.

How long we keep it

Emails and enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful to us. Business records such as invoices and job files are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes. Photographs are held in our archive - our Licensing page explains how that works.

Asking what we hold, or asking us to delete it

Email dan@sweetlimephoto.com.au and ask. We will tell you what we have, correct anything that is wrong, and delete whatever we are not required to keep. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.

If something goes wrong

Tell us first. Most things are a misunderstanding and can be sorted out in a phone call. If that does not settle it, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes guidance on what you can do next at oaic.gov.au.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we keep its software up to date. No website can promise perfect security and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we hold very little about you in the first place.
